Yes to Renfrew Town Hall refurbishment

Renfrew Town HallSNP Councillor Bill Perrie says: "The extent of Labour's neglect of Renfrew Town Hall has become the subject of a council report which revealed a further £1.02million would be required to protect and refurbish the town hall, in addition to the funds already required. 

"The SNP-led project has attracted over £1.04 million of external funding, which added to the already committed sums means that the project will go ahead as planned.  The town hall is a common good property and will be home to a new community museum."

Renfrewshire Council's SNP-led administration has been successful in applying for government funding for Renfrew town centre, and received the 4th best award in all Scotland.  This will allow the creation of more car parking spaces for the town centre.

Renfrew Health & Social Work Centre

The Renfrew Health and Social Work Centre is about to open,  funded by the SNP Government through the Health Board and SNP-led Renfrewshire Council.

Renfrew Care Home is now up and running providing excellent residential and day care services.

Community alarm users will be delighted that the SNP-led Council have frozen the charge for the community alarms for the second year running.

Scottish Water challenge

SNP Councillor Bill Perrie has challenged Scottish Water to resolve issues where bursts have occurred, particularly causing roads disruption, such as at Ferry Road, causing chaos for the town centre.

Renfrew Police Station

SNP Councillor Bill Perrie has sought assurances from Strathclyde Police about their commitment for a new Renfrew Police Station.  Councillor Perrie has been assured that although there will be a delay from the earlier plans, a new station is certainly going ahead.

Local park improvements

Robertson Park is set for a range of improvements approved by the Local Area Committee created by the SNP. 

  • £60,000 playpark equipment
  • £15,000 tennis courts refurbishment
  • New skate park
  • Free opening of the children's cycle area
  • Urquhart Crescent playpark is also set for a £15,000 investment, adding to new lighting at Knockhill Park and the landscaping at the Renfrew Sports Centre.

The local SNP Councillors led the opposition against the termination of the ferry.  12 Labour Councillors and a Tory ignored the people of Renfrew, whilst the SNP voted to save the Ferry.
