New Police Station for Renfrew
“It is excellent news that a new, modern, fit for purpose police station will be built in Renfrew”, says Cllr Bill Perrie (SNP – Renfrew North and a member of Strathclyde Police Authority).

At a recent meeting, Strathclyde Police Authority confirmed the decision to proceed with the new Police Office in Renfrew at a cost of just under £3million. The new police office will be built at Station Road, close to the new Renfrew Health Centre and will be more accessible for members of the public.  It is hoped that work on site will start later this month with completion in approximately 12 months.

Welcoming this decision, Cllr Bill Perrie commented;

“The new police station is long overdue. The present office opened in the 1920s and is not designed for modern style policing.

“I welcome this development; the new office will be close to the new Health Centre and should be more accessible for members of the public.

“Already we have the lowest crime rates for the past 30 years, falling knife crime and more police officers on the beat than ever before. The investment in a new, modern, fit for purpose police station will help to enhance the great strides already taken in policing and community safety under the SNP Scottish Government.”
