SNP councillors Derek Mackay, Bill Perrie and Cathy McEwan are continuing to work hard for Renfrew. Labour believe that Renfrew gets too much attention and have called on the SNP 'to do less' for the town.

SNP Councillors have been closely involved with attracting external funding to Renfrewshire. The latest good news is the Lottery award project that will fund local projects in parts of Renfrew over a five year period, amounting to £1million - a real windfall for the town.

SNP councillors were instrumental in the campaign to save a ferry service between Renfrew and Yoker, including initiating high level meetings. The ferry is now provided by a private company with council support, ensuring the service has a future.

Works continue to make good progress for flood prevention from the River Clyde. Despite the tough financial climate the SNP have made sure the flood prevention works are progressing, to a cost of £7.1million on their completion. |

A package of school renewal has been approved for Renfrew that will invest over £20million in the building of Renfrew schools, including a new St James Primary and a refurbishment for Kirklandneuk Primary. Renfrew SNP councillors attend the consultation meetings.
Following on from the Trinity High refurbishment (£6.8million), the Renfrew High School £10million renewal is also now complete. |

We have attracted money from the Scottish Government Town Centre Regeneration Fund from the SNP Government which will create new car parking spaces on the conclusion of the Renfrew Town Hall refurbishment.
The civic space at High Street is also being completed. |
